The producers of Love Don’t Let Me Down, a feature film starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw, are seeking 2,000-2,500 extras for a concert scene featuring the Oscar-winning actress. McGraw, who has a non-singing role in the movie, will welcome the crowd when the filming takes place Feb. 2 at Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium. The scene depicts the moment when superstar singer Kelly Canter (played by Paltrow) performs at a comeback concert. Appearing as her opening acts in the scene are Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl) and Garrett Hedlund (Tron Legacy). All of the actors will perform to pre-recorded tracks of songs written by Nashville songwriters. Also performing are the Lost Trailers, an opening act on McGraw’s upcoming tour. McGraw portrays Canter’s manager-husband in the film directed by Shana Feste. Extras seeking to participate as audience members will be admitted to the Municipal Auditorium at 4 p.m. All participants must be at least 18 years old.

London, Jan 24 : Holywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow and her musician husband Chris Martin have bought about $700,000 (435,000 pounds) flat here to house their staff.

When Paltrow and Martin decided to create a 33-room superhouse by knocking through into the property next door, many thought that must be the limit of their expansion plans. Dailymail.co.uk reports that the flat is on the other side of their original house, giving them a Monopoly-style hat-trick of properties in the North London street.

The two have an estimated fortune of about $ 72 million (45 million pounds).

Gwyneth Paltrow whips up a spicy salad in video
Published on January 26th, 2010 by Gioia & Filed in Gwyneth. Add Comment

Gwyneth Paltrow likes it hot – her salad, that is.

The actress is back in the kitchen giving another cooking lesson in her latest blog post on Goop.com.

This time, she whips up a Vietnamese salad with the help of New York City-based chef Lee Gross.

“This is a great beautiful side salad or an entrée and it’s incredibly quick,” Paltrow proclaims in her video cooking lesson. “I love it. I wanted to learn how to do it because I can come home from work and make it [in] 15 minutes and have a gorgeous, fresh healthy meal.”

The salad packs in healthy veggies like bok choy leaves, Napa cabbage, watercress, carrots and cucumbers, but Paltrow appears most excited about Bird’s Eye chili.

Gross adds the hot pepper after asking the actress how hot she wants her salad.

“I like hot,” Paltrow professes. “You know me.”

She’s previously posted videos of herself making Bibimbop, and Quick Roast Chicken with potatoes and a farmers market salad.

Washington (ANI): Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow was involved in a minor crash on an icy London street yesterday. According to Just Jared, the Shakespeare in Love star was driving through the U.K. capital, which has been hit by a winter storm, when she collided with another vehicle.

She exchanged details with the other driver before heading home, reports Contactmusic. However, she isn’t the only celebrity falling victim to winter freeze- singer Will Young had also crashed his car on the icy roads last month.

Meanwhile, filming on the sets of British soaps Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks has been postponed due to the icy temperatures and snow.

Kiss fires up Downey in Iron Man 2
Published on January 4th, 2010 by Gioia & Filed in Career. Add Comment

Gwyneth Paltrow gives Robert Downey Jr a kiss on the helmet in the first scenes from Iron Man 2.

The new trailer for the film – set to hit cinemas in May – gives a sneak peek at what fans can expect from the comic book sequel.

It certainly doesn’t disappoint, with never-before-seen scenes featuring Mickey Rourke as Whiplash, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Don Cheadle as War Machine.

Downey has said the new film will stick to the formula that made the first such a box office smash – describing it as a high-tech James Bond.

He says he wanted to make sure the plot of the second film remained grounded and was lucky that, thanks to the success of the first film, producers allowed him to give plenty of input.

‘Once you tell a story pretty well, that’s usually where things start to get dull, and one or two or three things start to happen over and over again,’ he said.

‘So, we made Tony Stark’s challenges very much outside the usual realm of activity. As much as anything else, it’s much more of a side job for him the second time around.

‘It would be so easy to go so far out it would be intergalactic and nothing would be grounded in reality any more.

‘But I think what worked for ‘Iron Man’ is that it almost seemed like something from the cover of Popular Mechanics.

‘These kinds of suits were starting to be made in the States and Japan, so people were responding to Iron Man almost as though it was a more of a high-tech James Bond.’

The film hits cinemas on May 7, 2010.
