‘Glee’ Preview for 100th Episode: Gwyneth Paltrow’s Return and a ‘Happy’ Cover
Published on March 13th, 2014 by Gioia & Filed in Career. Add Comment

It’s only a week away from the much talked-about “Glee” 100th episode, which has been previewed in a new sneak-peek video. The snippet offers glimpses at the return of favorite guest stars such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Kristin Chenoweth, who reprise their roles as Holly and April respectively.

They both are featured alongside the current and past members of New Directions in the choir room, singing a never-before-performed track, “Happy” by Pharrell Williams. April also leads the others performing Pink’s “Raise Your Glass”.

Naya Rivera’s Santana is back with her snarky comment, warning everyone about Will’s bad rap skills. She reunites with Heather Morris’ Brittany, as Lea Michele’s Rachel, Amber Riley’s Mercedes, Chris Colfer’s Kurt, Dianna Agron’s Quinn, Mark Salling’s Puck and Harry Shum Jr.’s Mike also return to McKinley High.

Aptly titled “100″, the first part of the milestone episode will air Tuesday, March 18 at 8/7c on FOX. Current and past members of New Directions reunite for one final assignment – to reinvent their favorite performances. But these new versions of the series’ most iconic tracks should not be seen as goodbye to glee club. On the contrary, they are celebrations of what the club has meant to each and every member.

The episode will include a tribute to Cory Monteith’s Finn with Quinn and Puck visiting his jersey memorial. The recent outing “City of Angels”, which aired March 11, also inserted old footage of Monteith’s Finn into New Directions’ performance at the Nationals.

They sang “More Than a Feeling” by Boston, “America” by Neil Diamond and “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” by U2 which were all Finn’s favorite songs, bringing tears to his mother’s eyes.

Gwyneth Paltrow joins Johnny Depp on the set of Mortdecai

The mother-of-two was spotted on the set of upcoming film ‘Mortdecai’, and looked very glamorous in black dress and matching heels.

Gwyneth, 41, kept warm in between takes by wearing an oversized black jacket but that didn’t stop her from struggling with her LBD.

At one point she was seen pulling the dress down at the back, but she may have been scratching her thigh and in turn revealed a little too much leg.

The ‘Sliding Doors’ star looked very glamorous with her blonde hair having been blowdried for her role in the upcoming action comedy.

Gwyneth appeared to be brushing up on her lines too as she carried what looked like an extract of the script.

Johnny, on the other hand, has been filming the new movie for a while now in which he plays art dealer and part-time rogue Charlie Mortdecai.

The ‘Edward Scissorhands’ star was sporting a handlebar moustache, greasy blonde hair and braces as he sipped on a fizzy drink in between takes.

The pair were then joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum – who Gwyneth looked very happy to see and embraced him as Johnny looked on.

It’s not yet known what Gwyneth’s character in the film is called, but the film is based on the popular three-novel anthology by Kyril Bonfiglioli, and tells the story of Charlie Mortdecai who tries to recover a stolen painting believed to contain the code to a lost bank account filled with Nazi gold.

The film has not been given a release date so far, but certain scenes that have been filmed so far were played at the American Film Market festival last year and they reportedly received significant interest from international buyers.

Gwyneth Paltrow tackles unexplored subject in ‘Thanks for Sharing’
Published on September 21st, 2013 by Gioia & Filed in Career. Add Comment

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Gwyneth Paltrow started the summer in the season’s biggest hit, reprising her role as Pepper Potts in “Iron Man 3.” She’s ending it with the independent romantic comedy, “Thanks for Sharing.”

“This film is about three men who are in a 12-step program in New York for sex addiction. It is sort of the story of their interweaving friendship as they try to help each other recover,” described the film’s director Stuart Blumberg.

Mark Ruffalo plays one recovering sex addict, who has recently re-entered the dating world after five years of sex sobriety.

Paltrow plays a woman who’s had bad luck on the relationship front but she is drawn to Ruffalo’s character. The script called for a few racy scenes.

While this mother of two says stripping down on-screen can be a little embarrassing, she said it can also be a bit freeing.

“I feel like when I do a part, it is for me. I want to really explore whatever. If I am in lingerie, or if I’m doing something racy then so be it. Like if I feel that is an aspect of myself that I want to express, then I do it. It’s my one time a year to express myself,” Paltrow said.

Last spring, People magazine named Paltrow as the most beautiful woman of the year. She is happy to know that the old mindset has changed that deemed 40-plus women over the hill.

“For me, I want to embrace my age. I’m going to be 41 in a week. I’m so happy to be a woman and to have amazing women in my life. I don’t mind my wrinkles, but you know I just want to stay healthy and look as good as I can without looking crazy,” said Paltrow.

“Thanks for Sharing” is rated R and in theaters this weekend.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Ewan McGregor Eye Johnny Depp Crime Movie ‘Mortdecai’
Published on August 5th, 2013 by Gioia & Filed in Career. Add Comment

Johnny Depp starrer “Mortdecai” is coming together quickly with eyes on an all-star cast as Gwyneth Paltrow and Ewan McGregor are in talks to co-star with Depp.

Lionsgate is distributing and David Koepp is directing the crime drama.

“Mortdecai,” based on the three-part series of books by Kyril Bonfiglioli, follows Charles Mortdecai, an antihero art dealer and rogue who is in a race to recover a stolen painting rumored to contain the code to a lost bank account filled with Nazi gold.

After contract disputes over Whitey Bulger pic “Black Mass,” Depp moved quickly to line up his next project.

Andrew Lazar, Depp and Christi Dembrowski are producing. Eric Aronson wrote the “Mortdecai” script.

Erik Feig, Michael Paseornek, Gillian Bohrer and James Myers will oversee the project for the studio.

Lionsgate looks to be fast-tracking the project with a high-profile team after it languished for years in development limbo.

The film will probably go into production in the fourth quarter of this year, after Depp wraps production on the Disney pic “Into the Woods.”

Paltrow’s projects this include “Iron Man 3? and the indie “Thanks For Sharing,” while McGregor was seen in “The Impossible” and “Jack the Giant Slayer” with “August: Osage County” bowing this fall.

Paltrow is repped by UTA and Brillstein Entertainment and McGregor is repped by UTA and United Agents.

Gwyneth Paltrow stars as a ‘business woman’ in Max Factor campaign
Published on June 24th, 2013 by Gioia & Filed in Career,Extras. Add Comment

It’s no wonder Max Factor chose the actress, mother, blogger, author and chef to front its seven faces of beauty campaign this year.

“Selected for her natural beauty, but also her chameleon style and ability to carry off diverse and arresting glamour statements, Gwyneth has been chosen as our canvas and creative inspiration,” say Max Factor.

For the brand’s ‘Glamour Statement Vision’, she returns with the ‘business woman look’ – you know, the one where we all work an immaculate red lip, perfect trench and poker straight blow-dry?

If you’re not sure how, follow these tips for “confident and fearless” make-up from Max Factor’s make up artist Mel Arter:

- Prepare your skin with your regular moisturiser, then apply Max Factor Lasting Performance Foundation for a completely smooth and even base.

– Dust Max Factor Bronzing Powder in Golden across your cheekbones, and blend using a Max Factor powder brush in circular motions. The aim is to create a ‘just been on a weekend break’ glow.

- Dab Max Factor Masterpiece Colour Precision Eye Shadow in Pearl Beige across the eyelid and just underneath your lower lash line. Using your fingertip, blend gently outwards to create a ‘halo’ effect around the eye.

- Using a Max Factor eye shadow brush, apply Max Factor Earth Spirits Eye Shadow in Burnt Bark into the eyelid crease and ‘wing out’ towards the outer corner using small circular motions to bond the powder and cream eyeshadows.

- Add Max Factor Earth Spirits Eye Shadow in Inca Bronze towards inner corner, and blend using the same technique as with the Burnt Bark eye shadow.

- Then, as finishing touch, sweep Max Factor Earth Spirits Eyeshadow in Pale Pebble across outer brow bone, in between lid crease and brow end, to contrast against the darker shadows and to create a sculpted effect.

- Define and separate your lashes with volumising coats of Max Factor Masterpiece Max Mascara in Black.

- Using a Max Factor lip brush, precision-paint the outer contours of your lips with Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick in Ruby Tuesday, the most show-stopping of reds. Once you’ve created your outline, fill using plenty of product.

Gwyneth Paltrow is the face of Hugo Boss
Published on May 11th, 2012 by Gioia & Filed in Career. Add Comment

Gwyneth Paltrow has signed up to become the face of Hugo Boss’ new fragrance.

The Oscar-winner will represent the newly-launched Boss Black Boss Nuit Pour Femme perfume in the latter part of 2012.

Gwyneth – who is the mother of two of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin’s children – described the product as something for a strong yet feminine woman.

She told Women’s Wear Daily: “To me, the Boss woman is driven, ambitious and goes after what she wants, but she balances being strong and very feminine at the same time–characteristics that I strive towards in my own life.”

The finished product of her campaign for the brand won’t be out until later this year and when it is released, it’ll be on a multi platform of advertisements.

The 39-year-old actress will be appearing in TV, print and online campaigns for the scent, which is inspired by “the elegance and sensuality of the little black dress.”

The style icon is no stranger to high-end marketing, earlier this year the International Brand Ambassador debuted her second collaboration with Coach with a series of fashionable print commercials.

Gwyneth Paltrow old Interview, where she reveals the actors she always wanted to work with
Published on February 9th, 2010 by Gioia & Filed in Career,General. Add Comment (1)

There’s a poll, here @ Gwyneth Paltrow Online, where the 62% of visitors and fans (included myself, LOL! :D ) expressed their wish to see Gwyneth in a movie with Johnny Depp. Hence, most of us would love to see them acting together, but we don’t know if this is ever going to happen. However, what does Gwyneth think about it? Here is an old Q&A to Gwyneth for the first Iron Man… and you’ll find out her answer. :) Enjoy.

Q: Hi Gwyneth. Congratulations on Iron Man. There’s talk about a sequel. Will we see you in Iron Man 2?
A: I think so. I’m signed on. It was such a fun experience so I’d love to do it again. I think we’re all signed on for not only Iron Man 2, but Iron Man 3 too so you may be seeing a lot of Pepper Potts.

Q: Were you a fan of comic books before you were offered the role on Iron Man?
A: No, I never really read them growing up. My brother did. He was a fan. That’s why I enjoyed doing Iron Man because it opened me up to this new world where fans are so passionate.

Q: Are you a comic book fan now?
A: Sure. I remember early on I asked Marvel to send me the Iron Man comics that they thought would best help me familiarise myself with Iron Man, Tony Stark and my character, Pepper Potts. Marvel sent me a couple of binders of photo-copied comics. Some were really old, but they were incredibly helpful to me. They showed howPepper had changed over the years. Different hairstyles and clothes, but also the way she dealt with Tony.

Q: If you had a super power, what would you like it to be? It might be handy to be invisible to escape from the paparazzi.
A: Yes, that would be handy (laughs). I thought being invisible would be great. Then I started thinking about it. It would be a bit creepy standing around and watching people. Don’t you think? Then I thought a power that allowed you to light fires would be handy. I would be dangerous if you couldn’t handle it, but I always have trouble at home finding matches to light candles. So if I could just walk around and light the candles with my finger, that would be kind of cool (laughs).

Q: Some people would probably say Robert Downey Jr was a strange choice to be the star of a comic book action film. What did you think when you first heard he would be Iron Man?
A: I thought it was a fantastic choice. There’s two actors I have always wanted to work with. One was
Robert. The other is Johnny Depp. I had no doubt Robert would make a great Iron Man. He’s one of the
great actors of our time and physically, he really worked out for the film. He looked great.

Q: He also brings a lot of substance to the role of Tony Stark.
A: And that’s the great thing. He’s not your average superhero. There’s all these layers to him and that’s why Robert is so brilliant in therole. He’s great physically, but then he brings his intellect and wit to the role. He’s spectacular in Iron Man, just like he’s brilliant in every other performance.

Q: As you said, Robert Downey Jr pumped up for the role. You looked great too. Did you have to work out to play Pepper Potts?
A: Luckily I didn’t have to wear a skimpy superhero outfit (laughs). But, I did have to work out. I shot the film not too long after giving birth so I had to lose about 15 baby-weight pounds. Let’s just say I had to hit the treadmill pretty hard!

Q: Pepper Potts is an interesting character. She’s not the usual damsel in distress that we often see in
action films.

A: Yes. That’s what attracted me to her. She’s a strong woman and kind of the moral centre of the
story. She keeps Tony in line and she speaks her mind.

Q: Do you think Pepper Potts is in love with Tony Stark?
A: Yeah, I think she is. I think she sees his potential and I get the feeling they’ve been together
forever, that they’re very, very, uh, almost like family. There’s something very deep between them.

Q: Can you understand her love for a guy like that because he’s a bit of a playboy? He could be trouble.
A: Yeah, sure. I mean, he’s flawed, but he’s a great man. He goes through this whole incredible
resurrection. He really takes adversity and uses it as an opportunity and that’s a sign of greatness.

Q: Iron Man has been such a huge box office and critical success. But, back when you were first
offered the role, what was it about the cast and script that caught your eye?

A: You never know what will work or not work, but there were a few things. Firstly, I always wanted to
work with Robert Downey Jnr. Also, if someone calls you and says ‘Jon Favreau is directing a movie with
Robert Downey Jnr, Terence Howard and Jeff Bridges’ I mean, how do you say no to that? It’s such an amazing group of people.

Q: You weren’t turned off because it was a big budget action film based on a comic book?
A: No, not at all. It was an interesting script, a great director and fantastic cast. You can’t be
prejudiced just because it’s big budget.

Q: The Iron Man sets were amazing. Did you take your kids on the set?
A: Yes, Apple visited. She came for lunch and that kind of thing, but she wasn’t around the big set
pieces or anything like that. Some of the sets would have been a bit scary for her.

Q: How did Apple like your Pepper Potts wig? Did she like you as a redhead?
A: No (laughs). Actually, she didn’t like it. She prefers me as a blonde.

Q: Critics have said Iron Man is your big comeback after the birth of your kids. What do you think of
that?

A: Maybe. I didn’t really make movies for a while. I mean, I did like 10 days on my brother’s movie. I did a couple of cameos here and there and the last sort of bigrole I did was in Proof and I was pregnant with my daughter when I made that. She’s four now, so it was a while ago.

Q: Is it difficult juggling your career and your home life because, for a film like Iron Man, you have to spend long hours on set. But, you also have two young children and a husband with a busy music career that takes him around the world.
A: I’m a lot more selective with work these days. My perfect plan is to do one movie every nine months. It would have to be a project that I found inspiring. It would also have to include other actors and a director I am inspired to work with. That’s why I didIron Man. I could tick all of the boxes.

Q: Thanks so much for your time.
A: Thanks.

Kiss fires up Downey in Iron Man 2
Published on January 4th, 2010 by Gioia & Filed in Career. Add Comment

Gwyneth Paltrow gives Robert Downey Jr a kiss on the helmet in the first scenes from Iron Man 2.

The new trailer for the film – set to hit cinemas in May – gives a sneak peek at what fans can expect from the comic book sequel.

It certainly doesn’t disappoint, with never-before-seen scenes featuring Mickey Rourke as Whiplash, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Don Cheadle as War Machine.

Downey has said the new film will stick to the formula that made the first such a box office smash – describing it as a high-tech James Bond.

He says he wanted to make sure the plot of the second film remained grounded and was lucky that, thanks to the success of the first film, producers allowed him to give plenty of input.

‘Once you tell a story pretty well, that’s usually where things start to get dull, and one or two or three things start to happen over and over again,’ he said.

‘So, we made Tony Stark’s challenges very much outside the usual realm of activity. As much as anything else, it’s much more of a side job for him the second time around.

‘It would be so easy to go so far out it would be intergalactic and nothing would be grounded in reality any more.

‘But I think what worked for ‘Iron Man’ is that it almost seemed like something from the cover of Popular Mechanics.

‘These kinds of suits were starting to be made in the States and Japan, so people were responding to Iron Man almost as though it was a more of a high-tech James Bond.’

The film hits cinemas on May 7, 2010.

A second clip shows Iron Man appear at some huge gala event in spectacular fashion that would make Apollo Creed jealous. The man knows how to make an entrance.

Entertainment Tonight’s full Iron Man 2 exclusive will air Wednesday night so be sure to set those DVRs.
